Carl Frampton pulls no punches as he tells Eddie Hearn what he thinks of him

Eddie Hearn is far from the most popular man in boxing.

And Carl Frampton has absolutely no problem letting him know that.

The Jackal tore into the Matchroom promoter at a press event in Belfast ahead of Frampton’s bantamweight unification bout with Scott Quigg in February.

The debate began when Hearn, who represents Quigg, predicted that his fighter would easily beat Frampton in Manchester.

“Two years ago, Scott wasn’t anywhere near the fighter he is now,” Hearn said.

“Taking nothing away from Carl, it’s not a gimme, but I believe this is a fight that Scott Quigg is going to win comfortably, I really do.”

“You’re just lying again,” Frampton interrupted. “Like you lie to all your fighters, pretending you actually give a fiddlers about them.

“The mask is slipping and everyone is seeing the real Eddie Hearn,” he continued. “He loves the green, he loves the bit of money and that’s it.”

“Money is relevant,” Hearn responded. “But you’d be getting nowhere near this payday without us and Sky so that’s the bottom line.”

Frampton’s manager Barry McGuigan threw his two cents in by saying: “You’re working for Carl, he’s not working for you, remember that… don’t be so smug, mate, you’re an arsehole.”

“They think they’re winding me up but they’re not,” Frampton added.

“Eddie Hearn and Joe Gallagher are dickheads but they’re not winding me up.”
