We’d be struggling to reach the backboard with our hands, never mind our heads.
A regulation basketball hoop is 10 feet off the ground and that is why most of us will never dunk a basketball on a regulation basketball hoop. But in the NBA, they regularly fly so high that dunks of all sorts are standard, and it takes something really special, like Zach La Vine’s wonderous dunk contest winner, to make us sit up and pay attention.
Last night, the All Star weekend drew to a close with the actual All Star game. A ridiculously high-scoring affair (the highest combined in the history of the game with 321 points) saw the West beat the East 163-158.
MVP of the game, and scorer of 41 points, was the West’s Russell Westbrook. The OKC guard also had the score of the night, flying high to finish off an alley-oop.
In fact, Westbrook went so high, he hit his head off the base of he backboard in the process.
It’s official: Russell Westbrook can FLY! #NBAAllStarNYC #NBAvine https://t.co/v2AqGeHweX
