She’s got the key, she’s got the secret
Madison Keys was probably gearing herself up to facing one of the Williams sisters at some stage in this year’s Australian Open but to have to play both sisters back to back probably wasn’t part of the plan.
The unseeded 19 year-old American had a morning to remember with a three set win over older sister Venus,6-3,4-6,6-4, in her quarter-final which means we won’t get to see another episode in the most fascinating sibling rivalry on the tennis courts.
For Keys it’s her first ever time to be in a last four at a grand slam event, but she will now have to take on Serena after she demolished Dominika Cibulkova 6-2 6-2
Williams did have to deny in her press conference afterwards that she has any magic power and was never in fact a fellow student of Harry Potter’s at Hogwarts
The question came after Serena was clearly under the weather in her press conference following the straight sets win and is battling a virus she believes she picked up from other players at the tournament.
In the men’s holder Stan Wawrinka is through after a 6-3 6-4 7-6 (8-6) win over Kei Nishikori with Novak Djokovic in action against Milos Raonic currently.
