World number 10 Fabio Fognini stunned Wimbledon when he said that he ‘wished a bomb would explode’ at the club during his third round loss to American Tennys Sandgren on Saturday.
12th seed Fognini was placed on court 14 and early in the second set against Sandgren he seemed to take exception with where his match had been placed.

“Is it fair to play here? Damned English, really,” microphones caught him saying.
“Damned, really. Wish a bomb would explode on this club. A bomb should explode here.”
Fognini has a history of on court tirades with the Italian defaulted from the 2017 US Open after a foul-mouthed rant to an umpire in his first round match.
Fognini used a series of misogynistic insults during his match with fellow Italian Stefano Travaglia and was fined $96,000 for the outburst, while in 2014 at Wimbledon, he was docked twice for unsportsmanlike conduct with one penalty carrying a $20,000 fine, the other $5,000 and another $2,500 for what was viewed as a visible obscenity.
