The New York Jets fell to yet another defeat last night, despite one of the more outrageous pieces of fortune we’ve seen this season.
Leading fringe play-off contenders Miami 13-6 late in the third quarter, Dolphins running back Lamar Miller somehow managed to dig Ryan Tannehill’s pass out up from the turf and into the air for Jets cornerback Darrin Walls to intercept.
Walls ran the ball to the Miami 30-yard line, but instead converting the gift into a two-score lead, the 2-10 Jets went scoreless, giving up the lead by conceding ten fourth-quarter points to the Dolphins, who move to 7-5 to stay in the hunt for an AFC wild card.
