Rule number one for sportspeople-if there is a microphone in front of you assume that it is on. And no matter how quietly you whisper, it will pick up what you’re saying.
The only way that we can forgive this amazing embarassing episode is that Nigel Hayes is a very very young man and is probably not too used to being in the full glare of the media. We expect that will change pretty rapidly after this gaffe last night.
The Wisconsin Badgers’ man was taking questions from the floor when he noticed a very attractive lady in the audience. He whispered to his teammate beside him ‘Gosh she’s beautiful’ but unfortunately for the sophomore everyone heard it, including the lady herself.
Eeek.
His reaction is pure comedy gold. Hand that man a shovel.
Next time he should just pass her a note or something.
