Proof that you don’t have to be a 300lb giant to play a part on an American football field.
Diminutive wide receiver Ryan Davis might be only 5ft 9in and weigh less than 12stone, but that only makes him more dangerous in a sport filled with monstrous athletes.
Davis is on scholarship at big-time college football outfit Auburn, and head coach Gus Malzahn took advantage of his lack of stature to fool opponents Texas A&M last night.
Davis begins the play crouched behind his offensive line and out of sight of the defence, and after he gets the ball waits for the rest of the offence to look to the right before sneaking out and running into the open field for a 28-yard gain.
