One of the NFL’s biggest showmen showed off his dark side.
Odell Beckham Jr is the closest thing the NFL has to a human highlight reel, wowing people with incredible warm-up routines and then pulling off circus catches to match in the games themselves.
However, the New York Giants star receiver is at the top of the sports headlines Stateside this morning for all the wrong reasons after he let his temper get the better of him during yesterday’s 38-35 defeat by the unbeaten Carolina Panthers.
Beckham was matched up against lockdown corner Josh Norman for much of the game, and Beckham began to let his frustrations get the better of him after dropping a long early touchdown pass.
Norman began the chippiness soon after this play, kicking off a running battle that lasted most of the afternoon.
Things escalated as the Giants fell into a 35-7 deficit, with Beckham raising the stakes with this completely over-the-line helmet to the side of an unsuspecting Norman’s head.
It’s remarkable that neither player was ejected from the game and Beckham played a big part as the Giants fought back to tie the game at 35-35 before Cam Newton led a late field goal drive to move Carolina to 14-0, while New York dropped to 6-8 and now trail Washington by a game in the NFC East race.
However, Norman and several other Panthers were furious after the game, and Beckham could yet face disciplinary action from the NFL.

Norman says fine if Beckham wants to "dance and prance around like a ballerina," but he shouldn't try to be something he's not. ie, tough.
