As ice hockey goals goal, this was a flying pig moment.
Chicago Blackhawks defeated Anaheim Ducks [the ones that used to be ‘Mighty’] 3-2 after triple over-time last night in a thrilling Stanley Cup playoff encounter.
The game’s main talking point arrived when Blackhawks’ Andrew Shaw headed home a looping puck. It arrived in the second period of overtime:
A 2nd overtime, means another dance with Jerry. You jump on his ship, you don’t know if you are ever getting off. pic.twitter.com/JFHdW8ZMhj

This clip – with voiceover commentary from proud Geordie Ray Hudson – is what the internet was made for: ‘Are you kidding me? Astonishing! This is not just a dream but a wet dream of orgasmic proportions… it eludes everybody. It seduces everyone in Real Madrid’s fan club, that’s for sure.’ Propelling the puck into the net with anything other than the stick is not allowed in the NHL, which was news to Joffrey Lupul.
I’m back…. Just to say I had no idea you couldn’t score with your head. And I’ve played 11 years. Still didn’t know. Enjoy the game.

The goal did not stand and the game went into third overtime, much to Dan O’Toole’s delight:
