Playing in the NFL is hard enough at the best times, but Kwon Alexander’s efforts yesterday deserve a serious ovation.
The rookie linebacker had the biggest game of his fledgling career in Tampa Bay’s overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons, racking up 11 tackles and a pair of crucial turnovers.
And he did it all just a day after learning his younger brother Broderick was killed on Friday night in a fight in Alabama.
Alexander’s remarkable courage was hailed by team-mates in some great postgame locker room scenes, when the 21-year-old broke down with emotion as he received the game ball from Buccaneers veteran Logan Mankins.
