We’re looking forward to Jose Mourinho giving Geoff Shreeves ‘the tape’
The Dallas Mavericks kept their slim NBA play-offs alive last night after beating the Houston Rockets 121-109 to avoid elimination, but that doesn’t mean head coach Rick Carlisle was all that happy with the officiating.
Carlisle was fined $25,000 for his remarks about the referees following the Mavs’ Game 3 loss, and he was asked again about their performance following another physical contest.
On the winning side this time, at least Carlisle was able to joke about it…
Dallas remain up against at 3-1 down to the Rockets as the series heads back to Houston, as no team has ever come from 3-0 down to win an NBA play-off series.
The Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics added their names to that list as they suffered 4-0 series sweeps at the hands of the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers, while Finals favourites Golden State also whitewashed their first-round opponents New Orleans on Saturday night.
One series that looks like it could go all the way is between defending champions San Antonio and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clips won Game 4 on the road last night to even the series 2-2.
