Americans don’t do things by half measures.
Not even something as trivial as a squirrel going about his everyday life.
If ever there was evidence needed to suggest that baseball games perhaps go on too long, take a look at Squirrel-Gate.
That’s right, one cute, innocent little squirrel brought Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia to a complete standstill last night.
He climbs a net – which is admittedly pretty cool – and the entire stadium seems to be captivated by it.
He then goes for a run and a nose-dive from a height he should never be surviving from before scampering into the dugout and causing all sorts of mayhem.
The players jump up, some of them run but, it’s okay, because police are on the scene to oversee the crisis.
One reporter then sees fit to keep us updated on Squirrel-Gate and, more hilariously, on her well-being. She found a platform to stand on so she survived, thank God.
Only in America.
Oh, the Cardinals beat the Phillies 12-4…
