And you thought you ate a lot over the last few days
As we wait for the first ever College Football playoffs in the US, the schedule is stuffed with lots and lots and lots of other ‘bowl’ games. Essentially post-season consolation games for teams not quite good enough for the decisive final clashes, they are sponsored by a wide range of companies and on January 1, Tampa in Florida will play host to the Outback Bowl, a event sponsored by Aussie themed restaurant Outback Steakhouse.
The two teams in the game, Auburn and Wisconsin, met up for a pre-game dinner and a writer for an Auburn football website posted just how much food the two sides were served.
Outback Bowl dinner for Auburn & Wisconsin: 750 pounds of steak, 900 lbs. of ribs, 750 lbs. of chicken, 1,600 shrimp, 1,200 lbs. cheese cake

The folks who posted the tweet originally, ForTheWin, suggest that at most there would have been about 300 people at the dinner but that is still an enormous amount of food for that many people to chow through.
Another site, SB Nation, have calculated that the feast would have contained 4,000,000 calories, which is an obscene 13,333 calories per person.
Like us, we have to assume they have a lot of leftovers to cope with today.
