A sort of a homecoming for 2016 NFL season.
American sports teams don’t really ascribe to the motto ‘pride of the parish ‘ considering so many of them have moved around pretty freely over the last number of years. But one side that could be about to return ‘home’ is the St. Louis Rams.
They originally played in South California from 1946 until 1994 and now they could be about to move back west if their owner Stan Kroneke has his way.
He’s better known around this part of the world as the Arsenal part owner and he is believed to have plans to build an 80,000 stadium in Inglewood south of L.A. That could mean that the Rams are headed back to the west coast.
Their current home is the less-than-salubrious Edward Jones Dome and the franchise have until the end of this month to decide if their current lease on the stadium can be changed into a year-to-year agreement which would make moving a hell of a lot easier.
The proposed name of the stadium is Farmer’s Field and this artist impression make it look all shiny and pretty:
Maybe Arsene Wenger might fancy his chances of calling the plays in gridiron instead of having to watch Per Mertesacker every week.
