Brigham Young University have just signed a player who is causing a fair stir on social media today
Today is National Signing Day in the US, the day when the best and brightest high school footballers ‘sign’ for the college of their choice. The day is hotly anticipated by college football fans as they get a first glimpse at players that may be lining out for their teams next year and fans of Brigham Young University will have one immediately recognisable new player.
Tongan Motekiai Langi was announced by BYU this morning and his stature has caused much comment on social media.
The college announced the player with this tweet

Many didn’t believe that Langi was a real person but the college provided proof
