Ciara Mageean is a special athlete.
She’s a once in a generation type of athlete – doing the sort of things that haven’t been done in Ireland since the day of Sonia O’Sullivan.
The World Championship final, the PBs, the grit, the talent, the honest interviews.
But most people just want to be her friend.
"She's just a breath of fresh air…"@CiaraMageean is a superb athlete and all that… but two of the biggest names in Irish Women's Rugby just want to be her friend 😊#PlayXPlay w/ @AIGIreland #EffortIsEqual

Joining Jenny Murphy on the PlayXPlay panel this week was Ruth Fahy and Tania Rosser.
Rosser might’ve been born a Kiwi but she’s been in Ireland long enough to know what ‘craic’ is and she knows that Ciara Mageean is full of it.
Alongside a discussion about career-ending injuries, rehab, attendances and the biggest news in female sport, Monday’s episode was full of admiration for Ciara Mageean too.
