From Twickenham to West Cork in three weeks.
Munster’s high-profile World Cup signing may have had a different venue in mind for his debut, but Friday night is unlikely to be one he forgets.
At the end of last month Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino played 2 matches in the space of five days in Twickenham as Argentina lost their World Cup semi-final to Australia and were defeated by South Africa in the bronze medal match.
Tomorrow he will face Yorkshire Carnegie at Kinsale RFC in the B&I Cup.
Signed on a three-month contract, the 30 year old will be looking to impress as he seeks a long-term deal with Munster, and with this weekend’s Champions Cup encounter with Stade Francais cancelled the B&I Cup is the only show in town.
It could be worse. The game could have been played on Tuesday.
