Poor Stuart…
It was definitely a Six Nations tournament to remember for Stuart Hogg.
His performances for Scotland helped them to three, almost unprecedented, victories against Ireland, Wales and Italy.
Unfortunately, from an Irish perspective, we were all reminded of his attacking qualities when he scored two first-half tries against Joe Schmidt’s side in Murrayfield which pretty much consigned Ireland to an opening day defeat.
He backed up that performance with a try against France and played a highly influential role in his side’s victory over Wales.
The 24-year-old was removed from the field of play, early in the first half against England but was back to his best against Italy when he laid on two assists.
His performances have also led to the almost unanimous opinion that he will be wearing the fifteen jersey in the first Test against the All Blacks in June.
Before that though, Hogg will have to turn his attention back to his club, Glasgow Warriors.
The Warriors are a little over a week out from their Champions Cup quarter-final clash with Saracens and they will have ambitions of breaking into the top four of the PRO 12.

So when Hogg returned to training this week for his club side, a presentation was held by management whereby he was awarded the Six Nations Player of the Year trophy.
And in true rugby fashion, management and teammates made sure that he didn’t have it all his own way before he collected his prize.
