You can take Sean O’Brien out of the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of Sean O’Brien.
After a relatively quiet January, Irish sports fans can look forward to a feast of sporting action from here on out kicking off this weekend with the Six Nations.
Ireland kick off their tournament on Saturday as they take on Scotland in the lion’s den of Murrayfield, exactly one month to the day before Katie Taylor’s scheduled for her third fight as a professional boxer.
Taylor has been confirmed for a bout on the undercard of the heavyweight clash between David Haye and Tony Bellew at The O2 in London on Saturday March 4th. Although an opponent has yet to be finalised, the pride of Bray has been putting in the hard work in fight camp to ensure that she is in tip-top condition for whoever’s standing across the ring from her next month.
She uploaded a training video of herself absolutely walloping a tyre with a sledge hammer in preparation for her next bout, with the simple, but still rather ominous sounding caption, ‘Getting ready’.

While whoever’s putting pen to paper on the contract to fight the Irish Olympic hero probably soiled their britches when they came across the intense video, O’Brien seized the opportunity to showcase his trademark wit.
The proud farmer was so impressed by Taylor’s skills with the hammer that he thought they could be better utilised in a more agricultural setting.
how are you fixed to drive a few stakes on the farm in next few weeks??

We hate to break it to you, Mr Tullow Tank, but she’s a bit preoccupied for the next few weeks trying to get ready for a scrap.
