How the hell does he move that quick?!
We don’t envy the players who have to attempt to take Mathieu Bastareaud down.
As much as we may daydream and yearn for life as a professional rugby player, we are quickly brought down to earth when we see the absolute destruction the 19-stone French behemoth can dish out.
The latest example of the Frenchman’s power came in the eagerly awaited clash between the Top 14 powerhouses of Ronan O’Gara’s Racing 92 and Bastareaud’s Toulon.
V disappointed not to take anything from a very good Toulon side with great supporters but loads of encouraging signs.#hardworktrumpstalent

The game finished 17-11 in favour of Toulon with Bastareaud winning man-of-the-match for a barnstorming display which yielded 13 carries and 71 metres gained.
One of these freakish carries you can see below, when Bastareaud simply blasts through Racing 92’s doomed tackle attempts.
What shocks us here is his ability to get back up off the ground so quickly and continue his carry.

Earlier in the game, the 28-year-old came agonisingly close to scoring the game’s opening try with another example of raw power and strength.

Maybe it was the champagne he had beforehand which led to such a dominant display.
