Watch: Joey Carbery intercept try and incredible try assist

Jack O'Toole

Joey Carbery scored 26 points in a 41-15 rout of Gloucester on Friday night.

Carbery was sensational for Munster and was hailed as ‘special’ by former Ireland fly-half Ronan O’Gara.

The former Leinster out-half had arguably his best game for Munster this season and said that he was delighted with his side’s comprehensive win.

“I’m obviously delighted but what makes me more happy is the scoreboard,” said Carbery.

“We worked hard during the week and we put a few things into place and we were just so happy that we could come out and do it tonight.

“It’s a huge credit to the coaches and the team for how we prepared for this.”

Meanwhile captain CJ Stander said that the halves partnership of Carbery and Conor Murray were good on the ball and that the performance was a product of their good training week.

“They score all the points,” said Stander.

“They worked hard during the week and they support what we do as a forward pack. We work hard as a team and it’s good to see that they were good on the ball.”
