Claire McLaughlin is a woman of many talents.
Prepare to feel extremely jealous as the Ulster centre has the perfect trifecta of athleticism, intelligence and creativity.
The athletic part is obvious – you don’t get make the Ireland Six Nations squad without that characteristic. McLaughlin came off the bench during Ireland’s emphatic 27-3 victory over Italy last weekend.
When she’s not togging out for her country, she earns a crust as a doctor. Now we’re no rocket surgeons, but we’re pretty sure that requires smarts, and lots of it.
Often when someone has book smarts, there’s a trade-off for creative talent, but the real sickener is that doesn’t seem to be the case for McLaughlin. Her Ireland teammate Sophie Spence shared an incredible video of her entertaining a crowd at the airport on a piano that just happened to be in the terminal.
If you’re expecting a horrid rendition of Chopsticks or the Darts theme song, prepare to be blown away. She’s not just good at tickling the ivories, she’s bloody fantastic.
