Sporting traditions don’t come much more intimidating than the Haka.
But nothing was going to get in the way of Ireland paying tribute to a legend of the green jersey when they took to the field in Chicago.
The first international test since Anthony Foley’s tragic death last month was always going to be an emotional affair and, as was expected, Joe Schmidt’s men honoured the famous number 8 in stunning style.
As the fifteen men in black pounded their chests and slapped their thighs, the Irish players lined up in a figure of eight as a mark of respect to Foley, who passed away in Paris on October 16.
8 for Anthony Foley.
