Robbie Henshaw doesn’t score too many Test tries but when he does, boy, do they matter.
The Athlone native plunged a dagger into any comeback hopes harboured by the All Blacks when he finished off a superb set-play off an Irish scrum on the opposition 22.
The try came about due to a lovely Jared Payne loop pass, Simon Zebo’s intelligent kick, Conor Murray’s chase and all eight men involved in a solid scrum. Heaslip peeled off, feinted and switched a pass back to Henshaw.
That was the try that finally finished the New Zealanders off.
The score was beautifully captured by Stephen Feeney, a proud Irish fan living and teaching in Chicago. Worth the 111 year wait? You’d better believe it.

Henshaw’s first Ireland try was that superb aerial take and score against England in 2015.
His second arrived 18 months later and it was just as sweet.
