Not long to go now.
Much of this week has been taken up with reaction to Wednesday’s Lions squad announcement.
The early nature of the announcement compared to previous tours means that it has fallen right in the middle of the week building up to a HUGE weekend for Irish rugby.
It’s been many years since two Irish provinces have contested the semi-finals of the European Cup.
It has been even longer since both Irish sides involved have very good chances of reaching the final.
Imagine for a moment.
Munster.
Leinster.
Murrayfield.
Yep, it would be epic.
Before we can indulge that thought further, Munster and Leinster both have to get through Saracens and Clermont Auvergne.
No mean feat.
Munster are first up when they take on the English champions at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
Besides the injury to Conor Murray, Rassie Erasmus’ side look to be at full strength for the clash and have every chance of reaching their first final since 2008.
Excitement is rightly building down south for what will be a huge occasion as thousands upon thousands make their way up the M7 and M8 to flood the Aviva.
A video has been released featuring the injured Murray and it’s safe to say if you are not excited for Saturday, you will be after watching this.
