Wales Online tasked its’ rugby correspondents with selecting a composite team out of the likely starters in this Saturday’s Six Nations clash at the Millennium Stadium.
What follows [below] may not please many Irish rugby supporters.
In a nutshell, the only place Ireland are given the advantage is the half-back pairings – Conor Murray and Johnny Sexton getting the nod ahead of Rhys Webb and Dan Biggar. There is parity in the second row but the board is almost clean sweep red thereafter.
The writers may have been kinder to Ireland had they selected Cian Healy at loose-head and Jamie Heaslip at No.8 for Ireland. Still, one must admire the Welsh confidence especially after losing to Ireland in their last two Tests.
