Another season, another woeful start for Auckland Blues
The prodigal Sonny Bill Williams was fantastically prodigious for Waikato Chiefs in his first Super Rugby since he returned from a rugby league stint in Australia.
SBW, who recently kept up his unbeaten streak in heavyweight boxing, set up two tries for the Chiefs as they defeated the Blues, their Kiwi rivals, 23-18.
A sharp offload set James Lowe away down the left wing and, having scorched two covering defenders, he dotted down. Three minutes later and Williams was at the forefront of another attack. He outjumped three Blues to claim a high ball and set up winger Bryce Heem for a try on his Super Rugby debut.
