VIDEO: It’s not often you see a prop attempting a conversion in the Rugby World Cup

A retirement gift

Darragh Murphy

This will go down as one of the moments of the World Cup.

Johnny Redelinghuys, Namibia’s most capped player, played his last game for his country on Sunday afternoon and he finished it in style… well… kind of.

The prop was given the honour of attempting to put Namibia’s final points of the tournament on the board after Eugene Jantjes crossed for a consolation try against Argentina.

The 17 stone forward stepped up to add on the extras but unfortunately it didn’t have the legs to make it and the perfect send-off wasn’t to be.

Still, we give this sort of thing a wholehearted thumbs-up.
