VIDEO: If this horrific jaw-breaker is a ‘Grade 3 dangerous contact charge’ we’d hate to see Grade 1

Lenient as heck

Season over for victim, attacker gets three-week ban.

Skewed sense of justice in the NRL.

Cronulla Sharks’ Anthony Tupou hardly expected to be facing surgery to re-set his jaw as he set himself for a tackle on Konrad Hurrell, at the weekend.

Hurrell, from New Zealand Warriors, was having none of it and clattered Tupou into another dimension.

This is the raised knee charge that rearranged Tupou’s jaw.

This is the damage it did.

This morning, Hurrell accepted the three-game ban handed down for the incident, which the NRL disciplinary officials listed as a ‘Grade 3 dangerous contact charge’.

As for Tupou, his season is all but over and he will be eating from a straw for the rest of May.

Rough justice.
