Sonny Bill Williams is one of rugby’s good guys.
The all Blacks centre came off the bench in his country’s 20-18 World Cup semi-final victory over South Africa and was typically brutish.
He made 26 metres off six startlingly good carries, made a clean break, tossed a few offloads and beat a couple of Springbok defenders. He was also kind enough to bring Francois Louw for a ride.
Soon after the final whistle, as most of his teammates were still celebrating, Williams sought out crestfallen South Africa centre Jesse Kriel to commiserate him on the battle he had just lost.
Fair play to you SBW.
