They were rivals for the British & Irish Lions jersey but Tom Youngs knows game. He respects game.
The tributes to Ireland captain Rory Best have mounted as the week has gone on. The Ulster hooker will earn his 100th Ireland cap when he leads his men out for their final Test of the year, against Australia, this evening.
Already this week we have seen and heard glowing praise for ‘Besty’ from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Niall Horan, Joe Schmidt and Sean O’Brien.
The latest video compiled by Esportif, Best’s agents, features a wry Andrew Trimble and the ever-upbeat Tommy Bowe.
The best tribute of all though comes from England and Leicester hooker Tom Youngs. The pair duked it out for the Lions No.2 jersey in Australia, back in 2013, and have had some fierce battles while representing their nations.
Teammates or rivals, Youngs was always going to raise a pint. We just didn’t expect him to sink it in four seconds flat.
