Simon Zebo on course to break all-time Munster try-scoring record by season’s end

One record done, another in sight.

Simon Zebo is Munster’s leading try-scorer in league competition, following his Saturday dot down against Edinburgh.

The winger has now got 23 league tries, overtaking the previous landmark set by Doug Howlett. He has now scored four tries in his last three matches.

The all-time Munster record – since the game turned pro – is 41, held by Anthony Horgan. Zebo is on 36 tries overall [in 82 appearances].

Munster have at least four league matches left and could have a fifth if they reach the Guinness PRO12 final next month.

Over in Galway, Ulster recorded a bonus point win over Connacht to keep pace with Munster.

Tommy Bowe scored two tries and Craig Gilroy, the league’s leading try-scorer, also crossed the whitewash for Ulster.
