Queuing up to meet your hero only to be shoved out the road by bigger lads waving autograph books. One young Connacht fan had his dreamed dashed before Robbie Henshaw stepped in.
We don’t know about you but we cherished our sporting autographs growing up.
Roy Keane and Paul McGrath’s scribbles adorn the SportsJOE mantlepiece and one of our team once stood in line for over two hours to get Brian O’Driscoll’s dashing scrawl on a scrap of paper.
We know how important player autographs are for young fans so we were saddened to hear about young Connacht fan Adam Joyce, who was muscled out while waiting for Robbie Henshaw’s autograph.
That’s right, Henshaw took time out from his injury rehabs [he should be back for the Six Nations] to pen a Christmas card for the youngster. Here is a snap of Adam’s card from the Irish rugby star.
Fair play to all involved for making a young lad’s Christmas.
