Scotland’s sumptuous new rugby jersey has us seriously considering switching our allegiances

It's a peach

They’ve done it!

Tartan hats off to Scotland and kit designers Macron for making an eminently wearable rugby jersey and doing it all over again.

Scotland will go into the 2016/17 season with a home and away jersey that look the part on the professionals will being natty enough for fans to casually wear.

Officially launched this morning, the home kit has a white, football-style collar with a tartan embellishment. The rest of the jersey is kept relatively simple with crest and designer logo in plain white. The only thing showy about it is the sponsor’s logo.

Scotland home

The away jersey is white with bold, yet thin, navy hoops. It is a throwback to the much-loved number the Scots wore back in 1996.

Both jerseys have an extra sponsor’s logo on the back and the Scottish Saltire.

Scotland away

The jersey will be on sale from July 8 and will feature in Scotland’s November Series Tests, Six Nations campaign and summer tour [sans British & Irish Lions].

If you love seeing jerseys being made and modelled by rugby players, this video should quench that thirst.

Solid effort Scotland.
