“What a get… every other team will be looking on asking, ‘HOW DID THEY DO THAT?!'”
Sam Prendergast was in demand, in all four provinces, before he even made his professional rugby debut.
First ever URC win in South Africa, new guy in the 10 jersey gets Man of the Match, another flying prop shows his worth and a Springboks head coach secured. It was another weekend when everything came up Leinster.
On the latest House of Rugby [LISTEN from 17:10 below], myself, Lindsay Peat and Jason Hennessy marvelled in Leinster replacing Stuart Lancaster with Jacques Nienaber and [no pressure, now!] potentially replacing Johnny Sexton with 20-year-old Sam Prendergast.
It will surprise no-one to learn that Ulster and Connacht would certainly be interested in bringing the Kildare native their way for two seasons of senior team experience, with Munster surely paying close attention to his next moves.
“I’m a Munster fan but I was excited to see him named [against the Lions] and I wanted to see him play, because I’m an Irish fan as well. Then he goes and gets Man of the Match. I mean, come on!”
Lindsay Peat insists Prendergast will get meaningful minutes at Leinster, next season, with Johnny Sexton and Ross Byrne both expected to be at the World Cup. The former Leinster and Ireland prop spoke well on the potential of the Ireland U20 Grand Slam star.
