It could have been a lot worse for Ireland.
On Wednesday morning, the draw for the 2019 Rugby World Cup took place, and it couldn’t have shaped up much better for Ireland.
After a final day win in the Six Nations, Joe Schmidt’s side was guaranteed to be a top seed for the competition but with the second seeds containing serious competition – South Africa and Wales to name but two – the draw could have gone against the Irish team.
Then this happened…
By any reckoning it was the best possible draw Ireland could have got, and Twitter became a happy place for supporters.
