October 16, 2016 is a date that will forever be ingrained in the minds of the Munster rugby family.
That was the date the province was set to open their Champions Cup campaign against Racing 92 at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir.
Unfortunately, that fixture was postponed after the passing of a true giant of the game. Munster coach Anthony Foley sadly passed away in his sleep the night before the game causing the rugby world to go into mourning.
Following discussions between EPCR, PRO12 Rugby and the Ligue Nationale de Rugby, it was agreed that the match be rescheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2017.

Foley’s passing was only made public a few hours before the game was set to kick-off meaning a lot of supporters first heard the news having already made the journey to Colombes to see the match. No doubt a lot of the supporters who made the trip to France in October will be doing the same for the rescheduled fixture in January.
Just to make the financial toll of the trip that little bit easier, some Racing 92 fans have kindly offered to open up their homes for the Munster faithful. The Top 14 have compiled a list of their supporters who are offering to provide accommodation for any fans coming over.
Faith in humanity restored.
Racing 92 have pulled together a list of supporters who wish to offer travelling fans accommodation for rescheduled game in Paris 👏 #Munster
