A much-improved second half after an edgy opening 40 for the boys in green
Ireland got their Six Nations defence underway in Rome against Italy. The day started badly with Sean O’Brien injuring himself in the warm up, putting his participation in the rest of the campaign in some doubt. It was a fairly patchy performance from Joe Schmidt’s side but in the second half they stretched their legs, ran in two tries and secured a 23-point victory.
