A new day has dawned at Munster Rugby as Limerick becomes the province’s headquarters.
There will be no more shuttling between Limerick and Cork on a weekly basis. Munster have moved into their new High Performance Centre at the University of Limerick and offered a glimpse of the state-of-the-art facilities.
The senior squad, Munster’s academy players, coaching staff and administrators for the province’s domestic game will all be housed in the new centre. Munster team manager Niall O’Donovan comments:
“The idea of the new centre is to get players training together more than twice a week. Training separately had been working for us to a certain degree but when you are up against the standard of teams that you have nowadays, we have to see where we can make any adjustments to improve on-field performances.
“I believe it will help the group dynamic further with players spending more time together, the competitive edge will be enhanced and will add to training sessions.”
