What a man…
Last month, you may remember an incident that happened in the RDS during Leinster’s comprehensive win over Scarlets in the Pro12.
An unsighted Owens was struck on the back of the head by a ball thrown in from the side of the pitch by a ballboy, but instead of reacting angrily, he jokingly flashed a yellow card in his direction instead.
It was a sweet moment, and one that typifies the good-natured Nigel Owens.
Take a look at the incident below.

It emerged later that Owens was looking for the ballboy in question so that he could give him a reward. He posted on Twitter looking for clues to the identity of the young Leinster ballboy.
This is why rugby is the greatest team sport in the world. Anyone know the ballboy? Will send him my match Jersey to keep. #goodsport https://t.co/2Hk2zjXIcI

Nigel Owens has once again endeared himself to people of the Emerald Isle as he came through on his promise to send the boy his match jersey.
He tweeted: “The postman took his time but as promised the jersey has arrived with the Ball Boy Joe safe and sound.”
