SportsJOE

Former Munster and Connacht back Paul Warwick was on a watching brief for SportsJOE.ie on Saturday and was impressed with Ireland’s 29-15 triumph against South Africa. Here is how, in Warwick’s opinion, Ireland claimed their Springbok scalp.

‘Ireland’s breakdown work was impressive and they consistently, through Devin Toner, Paul O’Connell and Rhys Ruddock, cleared beyond the ball.’

‘The tempo from Johnny Sexton and Conor Murray was exciting to watch.’

‘The centre pairing of Robbie Henshaw and Jared Payne will only improve. There were some nice contributions from both guys and solid defensively.’
