Paul O’Connell summed up his experiences of Ireland’s 2015 Six Nations triumph brilliantly at the IRUPA awards tonight.
While being interviewed after winning the Newstalk Supporters Player of the Year award, the Munster man revealed that this year’s Six Nations triumph was the first trophy he won with a pint in hand.
Ireland had to wait anxiously for the result of the England vs France game after their dominant 40-10 victory over Scotland on the final day of the tournament. The English just came up short of winning the competition by defeating France 55-35 at Twickenham, which saw Ireland become the champions.
The Irish team watched the game during their post-game dinner and O’Connell revealed he did so with a celebratory pint.
