Munster fans rolled out a familiar hashtag after province’s embarrassing exit from Europe

#FoleyOut

Anthony Foley was one of Munster’s greatest ever players.

But his second full season in charge of the province has been nothing short of a disaster.

With no Paul O’Connell and captain Peter O’Mahony out injured, the province has suffered a terrible run in Europe, with their domestic form in the PRO12 has been patchy at best.

The former European champions needed to win tonight against Stade Francais in the Champions Cup, but instead suffered more addition to their injury list with injuries to Andrew Conway, and Tommy O’Donnell, as well as slumping to a 27-7 loss.

Stade played the entire second half with just 14 men after Josaia Raisuqe was red carded for an eye gouge on CJ Stander but Muinster still could find no way through until Conor Murray’s late consolation try.

Fans watching on were horrified at how poor Munster were and how meekly they surrendered their European ambitions this season.

And predictably, just one hashtag summed up the away fans’ feelings: #foleyout
