Leinster fans may need some time to get over today’s record loss at the RDS.
Leo Cullen’s side were absolutely thumped by Wasps in the Champions Cup with the game ending 33-6 in a record European loss.
Record home defeat for Leinster in Europe. Previous worst was to Leicester in 1996, 27-10.

Player ratings for the home side would make for very very grim reading, and Leo Cullen speaking afterwards found it hard to put his finger on where it all went wrong for the home side.
However, he did feel that one former Leinster player, who’s now playing for Wasps, could have played a key role in the 27-point beating
Outhalf Jimmy Gopperth was absent today as he sat out the game due to a ban, but speaking to reporters afterwards Cullen felt the former Newcastle man may have used his inside knowledge of Leinster to plan the loss

The result is a huge blow to Leinster’s ambitions of getting out their pool with games against Bath next week and Toulon to come in the pool.
