Former England coach Stuart Lancaster has joined Leinster rugby.
Lancaster comes in as a replacement for Kurt McQuilkin, who returned to New Zealand for personal reasons.
Leinster Rugby Head Coach Leo Cullen sounded confident that the new coaching addition could benefit the team, speaking to leinsterrugby.ie.
“The sad departure of Kurt McQuilkin due to family reasons has brought about an opportunity to bring in somebody new to the Leinster Rugby coaching team.”
“Stuart brings a wealth of experience and is a highly respected figure in world rugby. We are all looking forward to having Stuart join our team and together helping the players maximise their potential as a group.”
Lancaster took over as England coach in 2011 but left after the 2015 World Cup as the hosts failed to qualify from their pool.
He will begin his new position as Senior Coach at Leinster immediately with his contract running until the end of the season.
