That ‘Player 6’ chap is some man with the rugby ball in hand.
Player 6 has been Mr Consistency whenever he puts on the green jersey.
He gave his all for the entirety of Ireland’s dominant Six Nations win away to Italy on Saturday. 15 of the 63 points Ireland scored in Rome came from him as he bagged a hat-trick of tries. He now has six tries in 12 games for Ireland.
He was more than deserving of his 20th Man of the Match accolade for both province and country for that stellar performance, as he was easily the best player on the pitch.
Despite all those points, all those ball carries, all those magical moments, a glitch meant that as far as the Six Nations app was concerned, his original name was no more and his face was changed to the tournament’s official logo.
Player 6, we salute you.
