This had awful shades of the 2005 spear tackle on Brian O’Driscoll.
Less than 10 minutes into Ireland’s match with the All Blacks, in Chicago, and Joe Moody should have been sent off.
The New Zealand prop lifted Robbie Henshaw as he attempted to carry out of his half and planted him head-first onto the Soldier Field turf.
Yellow card for @AllBlacks. New Zealand are down to 14 men with Joe Moody carded for a dangerous tackle. #NZLvIRE https://t.co/sj30rlSXQO

There was outrage in the ground, and online, and replays did not help Moody at all.
And yet French referee, Mathieu Raynal, perhaps conscious of the occasion or unwilling to make a big call, only showed a yellow card.
Just a yellow for Moody. How do the All Blacks always get away with this stuff… pic.twitter.com/dBYTYXGQSk

There was understandable outrage to the iffy refereeing call online.
Outrageous tackle from Joe Moody who shouldn't be coming back to the game in 8 minutes' time

Joe moody lucky not to get red there I reckon #IREvNZL
