Montpellier and Fiji winger Nemani Nadolo has criticised a racist supporter who called him a ‘monkey’ while he was with his family.
Nadolo was out in Montpellier with his family when a drunk supporter came up to him and racially abused him.
The giant winger took to his Twitter, which actually says ‘possibly the heaviest back in world rugby’ in his bio, to condemn the supporter and react to the incident.
Don’t no how to take it cause I don’t speak French.. I’m out in Montpellier with my family who came from overseas to c me. 1 supporter who is drunk said to me “ not bad for a monkey to win the game for MHR in Clermont”. Now he was drunk but wow . 😒 #really

Nadolo spent two years with the Canterbury Crusaders before signing with Montpellier in November 2015. Canterbury rugby has been rocked by a string of racial abuse examples over the last few years with a series of incidents marring the sport in the area.
Speaking to the New Zealand Herald in 2016, Race Relations Commissioner Susan Devoy says racism isn’t just a rugby issue – it’s a countrywide problem.
“Racial abuse isn’t just a problem in rugby or sport, it’s a New Zealand problem,” she said. “A third of our complaints are to do with racial discrimination but we know many more people never complain formally about so-called “casual” racial abuse.
“NZ Rugby has a high profile campaign that puts the spotlight on abusive behaviour and this will encourage people to speak out which is a good thing: we can’t address a problem if we don’t acknowledge it’s there.”
