Ian Madigan is doing his small bit to remember those that gave their lives in the 1916 Easter Rising.
The Irish football team, the Dublin and Cork GAA teams and O’Neills have all marked the 100th anniversary of the Rising with specially commissioned jerseys.
We are still over a month away from the official, week-long series of remembrance events but many sports teams and stars have been compelled to pay tribute.
Madigan, who has made three appearances for Ireland in this year’s Six Nations, is remembering the rebels.
On Instagram, this morning, he posted a picture of the boots he wore last weekend when Leinster beat Ospreys by the rather fitting score of 19-16.
“A fitting first outing for these boots winning 19-16. Remembering those who died in the Easter Rising ??”
Madigan will be hoping for a start against either Italy, this weekend, or Scotland to give the boots another run out.
