House of Rugby: Ireland’s big calls, New Zealand revived and French flair is back

Patrick McCarry

Ireland take on England at Twickenham, and could go number one in the world if they defeat Eddie Jones men.

The House of Rugby gang is back together and there’s a crucial game to look forward to.

Ireland boss Joe Schmidt would be much happier with his main men getting some minutes into their legs, a solid performance and no injuries.

Rob Herring, Devin Toner and, significantly, Joey Carbery all left the win over Italy with injuries. This weekend, several big names are expected to return to the starting XV.

With another big week in store, Baz & Andrew’s House of Rugby were delighted to welcome back new father Barry Murphy, who joined Andrew Trimble and Jerry Flannery in studio. A host of great topics on the show were covered:

  • The return of French flair
  • High ball reception and GAA roots
  • Scotland’s woes bode well for Ireland at the World Cup
  • Big call for Joe Schmidt over fullback and back-up outhalf
  • Don’t make New Zealand angry
